Unhidden Beauty Founder & CEO Kiemu Salmon

We're back!

Kiemu, our CEO and Founder, tells you all about our relaunch.

Let me start by saying that it is so fantastic to see you. Whether you’ve shopped with us in the past or are new to our business, we hugely appreciate you visiting our website and interacting with us. Your custom means the world to us.

So, a little bit about me. As well as being the Founder and CEO of Unhidden Beauty, I am a Mum of two and used to be an anaesthetic doctor. In 2019, I left medicine to join my husband Tom in running Beautonomy (our old brand name). As a human I care about a few things, and have always gravitated towards prioritising them in work and life. They are: increasing access to opportunity, inclusivity, finding ways to help people to be themselves, and the power of human connection to make people feel good. I am excited to do this with Unhidden Beauty wherever possible.

Onto the business. Last year, we stopped selling custom palettes and tried to build on the good stuff we had done with Beautonomy. We’ve spent the last year working on various ideas that we felt might make the beauty industry fairer, something which is personally important to me.  But for various reasons, none of it really worked out. Luckily we learned loads.

One of the main things we learnt is that our custom palette business is a great platform from which to do good. We want to make eyeshadow less intimidating, help people to express themselves and make our products 100% vegan and cruelty free, as well as amazing quality and value for money.

We were overwhelmed with how many of you reached out to us and asked us when we would be back with custom palettes. We listened, thought about how we could launch bigger and better than before, and have spent the last few months working tirelessly to bring Unhidden Beauty into the world.

Our mission is to create a range of personalised beauty products to enable self expression, and help inspire conversations about definitions and standards in beauty.

Transparency and visibility are going to be a huge part of our fresh start. So look out for more of me and the team keeping you posted, and know that we are always happy to answer any questions you have. We can’t give you the best experience without hearing from you about what you want, so please do tell us!

Let me end by saying a big THANK YOU for sticking around, still being here and reading this, as we turn the page over to a new chapter in our story.
